The fragile sorrow of ceramics
Existentialism finally caught up with me. Drawing, sketching, creating - these are not mere hobbies. They are the essence of my being. They are my silent language, a universal code that transcends all borders! God, conventional communication has always been my Achilles' heel, my words often falling on deaf ears. Thus, I was compelled to forge a new language, a higher form of expression that could bridge the gap between me and my fellow human beings through ceramic art, pottery art or crafting unique gifts, through Hand Fetish Projects!
what is #the idea behind?
The common perception is that art is a luxury reserved for the wealthy, a mere adornment for their walls. The nouveau riche, in their turn, see art as a status symbol, a reflection of their own opulence.
However, speaking for those who appreciate art on a deeper level, I contend that art’s value transcends monetary worth and its purpose extends beyond mere visual gratification. I aspire to infuse my creations with this philosophy, demonstrating that art can be found not only in grand oil paintings but also in the most mundane objects, such as a soap dispenser, a lamp, or even a garbage can, when crafted with care and intention.
Vietnam, my beloved homeland, boasts a rich tradition of ceramic art, yet it remains relatively unknown to the world. I don't have the grand vision of turning Vietnamese ceramics into a global sensation. Instead, I believe Vietnamese ceramic art can be more than just a traditional craft, with designs that often lack aesthetic appeal and focus solely on functionality, leading to a repetitive appearance.
From my philosophical perspective, beauty always has a purpose. I aim to use local materials like Vietnamese pottery glaze and clay as the foundation for modern ceramic art designs.
